I'm going back to school tomorrow and this will be my final time doing just that.
Why?
Because I'm officially a senior at California State University, Northridge!
I'm in my final year as an undergrad!
I have mixed feelings about this:
excited, nervous, happy, sad, etc.,
but most importantly,
I'm feeling bittersweet.
I'm in a good mood because I have gotten all of my classes for this fall semester (and hopefully for the spring semester as well) and most of the classes, if not ALL of the classes, will be easy for me to pass.
Not only that, I will be seeing all of my friends that I've made in the past year in the two student organizations that I'm in:
CSUN Jishin Taiko Ensemble
CSUN InterVarsity Matador Christian Fellowship (I will be auditioning to become a part of the worship team for this school year-I will play percussion and I will sing alto)
I'm also in a really sad mood because after this school year is over and after I walk across the stage to receive my college diploma, I will be going out into the workforce in the real world and I will experience what is like to live on my own.
But I will go out into the real world, as well as the school year ahead, with my head held high with confidence, determination, and with one quote in mind:
BRING IT ON.

The Guitar Center Drum Off Is Fast Approaching! Expect a YouTube Video of My Performance at the In-Store Prelims come Mid-to-late September 2013!
The title says it all.
Earlier this month on Friday August 2nd, 2013, I went to the Northridge, CA Guitar Center Store for one purpose.
And that is to sign myself up for this year's Guitar Center Drum Off!
The contest itself is celebrating a milestone this year. It's their 25th Anniversary!
There are three in-store prelims: September 10, 17, and 24. I signed myself up for the 17th.
I am going to be busy preparing for that day where I show off my drumming skills to the people who are in attendance.
So Expect a YouTube video of my performance come mid-to-late September 2013!
I can't wait!
I'm super excited and stoked for this contest! It's going to be so much fun!
And even if I don't win this contest, I will be glad that I participated in it and that I will have proof to go along with it.
At least my performance will be exposed on YouTube for all to see.
I will let you all know how it all went down and what the results are for my performance.
But if I were to be one of the top two scorers at that in-store prelim, I will move on to the store finals, which will happen on October 1st, 2013. If I win the store finals, I will represent Northridge while competing in the Quarterfinals in Sherman Oaks, CA on October 17th (or 18th), 2013. After that, who knows? Maybe I move on to the semifinals in Hollywood, CA and to the Grand Finals at Club Nokia/Nokia Theatre in Downtown L.A., CA. Fingers crossed!
Until then, I will be counting down the days until September 17th!
Talk to you then!
UPDATE: Unfortunately I didn't move on to the next round, which is the store finals. The judges made a pretty tough decision and it turns out that they didn't like my style. I have tried to ask them why, but they didn't explain it to me. I'm rejected once again and I absolutely hate that feeling. I am going to try again, not next year, but in a few years, but it's going to be hard due to the fact that I'm going against very talented, skilled, and experienced drummers other than myself.

My East Coast Trip to Washington, DC and New York City 1 Year Ago
On August 13 to August 22, 2012, I went on a trip to the East Coast for the very first time! I was very excited to see my older sister and see the sights and sounds of both Washington, DC and New York City!
Here are some of the pictures that my sister and I took while I was there.
First off, while I was in DC, I took in the sights of the national monuments at night.
Such as the Washington Monument,
The World War II Memorial,
The Lincoln Memorial,
The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial,
The Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial,
And The Jefferson Memorial.
During the day, I went to a bunch of museums near and throughout the National Mall and Downtown DC. Most of these museums that I went to are part of the Smithsonian Institution.
Such as the Air and Space Museum,
The Main Library,
And The Natural History Museum
Just to see the Hope Diamond.
I even got the chance to tour the White House with some of my sister's friends. Sadly, my older sister didn't go on the tour because of her name misconception. Anyway, here are some pictures from the tour:
Now it's off to New York City for the weekend! Start spreading the news!
First off, my sister and I took the ferry
to check out and see the Statue of Liberty.
I even pose as Lady Liberty herself!
We also went to Ellis Island
And we end the day with a night out on the town.
The next day we went to Central Park!
We have so much fun rowing the boat for the first time!
We end the day by seeing a very good off-Broadway show called Clybourne Park
And we capped off with another night out on the town.
Overall, if I were to rank this trip out of 10, I would give this trip a perfect score! I really love it! I would love to come back to the East Coast again. Thanks to Tracy, my older sister, and my mother for making this happen! I truly appreciate it!
